I have a friend in Houston that started cycling all by himself a couple of years ago. He does around 20 miles a day but has aching in his arms, hands and shoulders. He and I have talked about this and he is ready to go in work with a fitter to see if his bike can't be better setup to work for him. The problem is that neither of us have a clue as to who is good in the Houston area to work with. Anyone have experience with fitters in the Houston area?

Thanks,
Kenneth

In Houston he should check out BikeSport or West End Cycles. Or he could drive to Austin and see Bicycle Sport Shop, or in San Antonio see KGS Bikes. Shouldn't be too tough to get somebody to leave Houston, even if just for a bit. :)

Bike Barn has a fit studio, I'm not sure of the cost.

I live in Houston and drove to KGS for their fit back in 2007. Worth every penny.

Since then, only 2 shops have started to fit riders to this level of detail in Houston.

Check out Bike Barn Fit Studio or Shama Cycles.

If you have any questions about what to expect in a professional fitting session, then please don't hesitate to pm me.

Cheers.
