Does anyone have any experience with specific food allergies, particularly dairy and/or gluten-wheat allergies?

I've been having some issues and have been to my primary Dr., an allergist, and ENT specialist and a gastro doc and no one can help me. I am going to circle back to the allergist and see if food allergy might be a cause/contributor.

I have recently had all the typical airborne allergy tests done (skin prick tests, scratches as well "interdermal") and all are clear, no allergies to over 90 subjected allergens.

why do you think you have allergies?

Yes, list your symptoms and a bunch of hacks will diagnose you through the interweb.

I don't tolerate milk protein and avoid problems by eliminating it from my diet as much as possible. It's unfortunate because many of the foods I love(d) have milk in them.

Ok, Symptons:

I have regular post nasal drip and that causes gongestion in my throat and a lot of throat clearing, voice interference, etc.. and quite frankly my wife cannot stand it, hence the exploration of multiple docs, etc..

I have no throat obstructions, no sinus infections, no allergies, etc.. About the only thing that we've really thrown anything at is possible "LPR" which is similar to acid reflux where stomach acid pools in the throat and then sounds like pflegm in the throat. I've been on an Rx of Nexium for 6 months and have taken them religiously but no relief. :) Thanks

Maybe it is time to venture from the conventional. You may want to go to a naturapath. They do alternative tests (blood) for food allergies. The regular allergenists scoff at them, but who knows? My allergenist admits that the normal skin tests are not good for food allergies, although he doesn't like the blood tests. He suggests eliminating things from the diet to see if that helps. Not foolproof and takes a bunch of time. Good luck with it. As an allergy machine, I can sympathize.

My Mayo Clinic trained allergist does not test for food allergies. I forget his exact words but it was something like "anybody that tries to treat food allergies is just taking your money." He diagnosed me with dust mite and mold allergies and the treatments have relieved me of sinus attacks. After a couple of years and getting the allergies under control he recently recommended and I immediately had surgery to correct my deviated septum. If I knew the extent of the problem I would have had allergy treatments and surgery a long time ago. The improvement in my quality of life has been dramatic. My results and the training that he has had lead me to believe he knows what he is talking about regarding food allergies. I would be interested to know how your quest turns out.

I feel like some health nut( maybe, I am) for always recommending a vegetarian diet. But, go on a vegetable only diet for two weeks. Eat veggies for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all snacks. You can eat as much as you want as long as it is vegetables. If, your symptons clear up or noticeably lessen than slowly add back other foods and watch for symptom flare up. The major inconvenience is you can't stop pee-ing because you will lose weight on the diet.
