My wife has a 1993 road bike with 8 speed ultrega.
I am begining to upgrade the parts and will replace the frame next year.
I am thinking of putting a Force group on it - but want to replace the crankset first and foremost with a compact and new BB.
The question is will the 8 speed chain and shifter work on the crank made for a 10 speed setup? Or do I need to make the whole jump to the drivetrain now?
