I need a new helmet and am leaning towards a Lazer Genesis but none of the LBS here stock them. Can anyone here describe the feel of the straps? Are they soft or rough (like Bell helmets)? Thanks everyone!

Lazer review (http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/default.asp?pg=fullstory&id=3758)

The straps are a lot like everyone else. Not "rough" but not super soft.

The retention system is nice (more a suspansion than retention). The first one that doesnt just smash your head forward and call it good...

I was trying on a bunch of helmets the other day and thought the Genesis and a couple of the Bells fit best. One thing that holds me back on the Genesis is that it's the least attractive helmet of the bunch

I have 3 Genesis helmets. They are by far the most comfortable helmets for me. I tried Bell and Giro but they just mashed my head in the front and back. The retention mechanism on the Lazer is head and shoulders above the others.

My Lazer Genesis is the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned.

No more Bell or Giro (except TT helmet) for me.

The fit of the Lazer is good for me too. However, I have two complaints regarding the helmet. The first is that my Oakleys don't fit well with this helmet. The portion of the helmet around the ears doesn't allow the Oakley arms to find a clear shot straight back. The second complaint is that is is not as well vented as my Giro.
