say i had a diamond appraised for x four years ago.

what can i expect to sell it for? retail/wholesale? x/2, x/3, x/4?

i would like to sell it, but don't find much to compare it to. most are bigger and of lower quality. this one is nice, but not big. sure i can give specifics later when i find the appraisal. and if someone cares to discuss it.

thanks

Wade,
A friend who used to be a jeweler, passed on some maybe relevant info....
Often you'll get about the best price from the place you bought it, and are probably more likely to give you good ideas about how and where ot sell it. Jewelers typically look at buying from the public at a signficant discount relative to what they'd pay a wholesaler. You'll typically get less at an Ebay or consignment.

In the current economy, it could be a minus number from what it was appraised for four years ago. Sorry, but we are all going through this falling off the cliff shock on prices.
