Can someone recommend a good bike shop in the Fremont area? Looking for someone that would put a bike together for me.

Thanks

If it's a higher end build come across the bay...velotech (palo alto) or palo alto bicycles. bespoke in SF is also very good.

Yeah, I used to live in Los Altos. As I live in Europe now and my office is in Fremont I am trying to see if there is something closer that is decent.

If you're willing to go that far, CycleSports (http://www.cyclesportsonline.com/) in Oakland is a quality shop. Good luck.

Tom is a great mechanic, can't speak highly enough of him and his work. Plus the eye candy inside (pinarello, pegoretti, colnago) is worth the drive. Just saying...

Eden Bicycles in Castro Valley. They're about 5 minutes from the Redwood Road exit on 580.

I live in the Fremont area, and for high end bikes I'd agree that the ones mentioned are your best bet. I currently make the long trek to bespokecyling in the city to have my Serotta worked on. A decent middle of the road shop located in Fremont is the bicycle garage. Ask for Alan. Cyclepath is an ok shop for higher end bikes in San Mateo just over the SM bridge.

shaws' is a nice old school type place. http://www.shawscycles.com/mission.html. cyclepath once quoted me something 2-3 times more than another local place.

Check out Robinson Wheelworks in San Leandro. Chris is a good guy.

I've also heard good things about Livermore Cyclery. Course that's a bit farther for you.
