White Shorts Must be Banned

Yesterday started as a beautiful morning. The temperature/humidity was just right, the scenery was great. Then a rider comes along, rides beside me, then just in front of me. The guy was wearing white shorts. It was impossible to miss seeing this guy’s crack and hairy rear end. People should know that when white material gets wet it becomes transparent, nothing is being masked!

There are plenty of ways of making white opaque, unfortunately many manufacturers do not use them. Some use double layers which is reasonably functional if a heavy enough layer is used. Others use chemical treatments to the material.

I think shorts should come with a "thread-bare" meter :butt: . Kinda like batteries, press and see how much life is left!

I can think of only one use for white shorts, which is to train new riders not to stare at the butt ahead of them.
If that butt were clad in thin white lycra, one would surely find an alternate spot to rest their gaze.

You know, if the pro's had to fix their own flats and reinstall their own dropped chains (instead of having support vehicles and slaveys to do the dirty work for them) nobody would be wearing white shorts. Races would be far more interesting, too.

i actually did see that very thing while on a ride last summer. i mean this very fit girl (probably around 25) comes riding by me with white shorts on and apparently no undergarment. as she passes me, in the drops on an incline, with the morning sun behind us, i really get to see what she is all about if you know what i am saying. several miles up the road at a rest area i see her but was too embaressed (for her bare ass and more) to say something to her. talk about opaque or transparent!
