... and other exagerations from scientists.

Long story short, IF you are a competitive racer, think about adding some calcium, weight training and running to your routine.

I think the study is flawed. Perhaps people with low bone density SELECT cycling, because other sports are too rough on them. On top of that, the benefits of fitness MAY outweigh the risks of low bone density...

Anyway, thought I'd share.

Well like everything else I live by the wise saying, everything in moderation. I mean I suppose these racers that are competing at the elite level may have some concerns but for those of us that are just lucky to get on the average of four hour long rides a week no worries. Although it can't hurt to have a glass of milk or eat some yogurt ;)

the biggest problem with our bones is that we consume too much protein which acidifies the system and the system neutralizes itself with calcium from our bones.

seriously. http://www.drmcdougall.com/med_osteo.html

but the industry has nothing to gain by us learning how to eat properly in order to be healthy. who the hell are they going to sell supplements, fads, pharm, procedures, etc to if we're thriving via good nutrition?

we can be healthy.
