That cassette seems a masterpiece of art and engineering and up to 36 toothes.
I think most of us who actually ride off road regularly are underwhelmed. It's a solution to a problem which didn't exist. 9 speed isn't as reliable as 8 and 10 will most likely be less reliable than 9. The mountain double isn't exactly new either.

The XX mtn derailer is compatible with the road SRAM shifters.
There are 11-32 & 11-36 10 speed cassettes available too.
Could be handy for making road super doubles for credit
card touring bikes.

we are patient enough to see if it might actually be better. Thinks it's cool SRAM seems to be innovating along side the giant Shimano. And a cassette out of a solid block of alloy. Kinda cool. Love to see that CNC machine.

I like the idea of 2 x 10. I have to say though, on my cross bike I am still running 9 speed ultegra as I think it works better. And on my mountain bike, I would hold off on 10 speed as long as possible for my mountain bike.
Ritchey had 2x9 back in the day, looked cool then.
I wonder how shimano will respond?
