I want to go ahead and get a 46cm nitto noodles bar for my csi, but I just found out it does not have the grooves for cable routing. Campy 10 spd is going on this bar...anyone using this setup and does the wrapping of tape over a double set of cables cause any issues with hand posiiton, etc.?

I have Campy Record on my CSI with a Noodle bar and don't have any problems with the cables. I wrap with a pretty thick bar tape, that probably helps. As soon as my new tape wears out, though, I'm getting a Handlebra for this bike!

I have a Noodle with Campy on my tandem. No problems for me, but I guess it's personal.

:) That's good to hear...I'll go ahead with the noodles...it looks comfy. I'm going to wrap this baby with Cinelli Volee tennis wrap (based on a fellow forumites suggestion). It's about the only rubber like wrap available now and I'm partial to the rubber feel.

Thanks guys!

Cool, good to see you can find that tape. I also use the Noodles (with Shimano) and I wrap the cables with more electrical tape than usual and haven't had a problem with the cables over the non-recessed bars.

I've got the Soba...a slighter lighter version of the Noodle, running Campy Chorus 10 speed. Cables aren't an issue for me. Ran Fizik tape first, now running Handlebra...all good. Love the flat ramps.

Noodles rock, noodles with Campy rock even harder. I run that setup on a couple of bikes and consider it darn near perfect.

Cheers

Noodles on both bikes with campy round top and '09 centaur ergos. Works great, just get the levers and the ramps in line and you are good to go. My cables run front and back - no problems at all. Top it all off with handlebra/sxxxwrpp and be done with it.

Try this ...

First wrap with el cheapo cork .... Then HandleBra over the cork ....

I bet you'll have a hard time feeling the cables.

Be careful wth the Volee' tape. Does not stretch well at all and the noodle is a pretty long bar.

I tried the Volee' and it ended up a bit short. Had to go with another tape.

HB is a generous roll. It will cover a 46 noodle over a cork tape underlayment. You can strectch it tight AND get a good overlap so gaps dont form.

Noodle bars are an excellent fit with Campy ergo levers and the Tektro clone brake levers. The top ramp ends up almost perfectly flat. The designer of these bars has to be a Campy user. I have sold 8 pair to customers who ride either Campy Ergopower or Tektro stand-alone brake levers with no negative comments.

in the grip of the top bar. Before you wrap, straddle the bike and grab the bar top and figure where the cables best fit inside your knuckle creases. It works:

I always run both cables in front. Maybe a little more bulky in front, but the cable in the back never worked for me. Noodles rock. Soba as well.

Why do the noodles droop, it is like they drop from the stem a bit on the horizontal plane, or is it just me?

Running Soba with the new style Ergo levers on '09 Centaur 10. Perfect setup. Run cables out the sides and underneath, wrapped with Fizik tape.

Great setup, probably by favorite overall bend.

They work well on my fixed gear bike, with F/R brakes and Campy carbon brake levers.

Itsa no NOODLE bar you bambocci - you must use the proper Nitto "PASTA" bend manubri !

And don't overcook ! Make it AL Dente !

I ran the cables front and back. I would have preferred grooves, as it looks a bit bulky. But it works fine and the appearance isn't a deal-breaker.

Cables in front, cloth tape.
I tried the Fizik gel pads once, too thick and the pudding didn't seem
to do anything.

The Gran Bois Maes bars have a flat Campy friendly ramp too.

I do: both cables in front. Gel tape underlay only on the top/contact sides of bars to minimize bulky look. Hockey tape over that. Then Handlebra. Cables fall in the bend of my fingers when on the tops.

I have run Noodle bars with Campagnolo 10, both old style Record levers and new style Centaur levers with no problems at all. I think the tape is generic (possibly Easton), and whilst I can sometimes feel the cables, it has never bothered me. I think they are a great match.
