Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

Any post that quotes an article regaling Giza, Ronchamp, Katsura, and Monticello is the POTC, in my book!

Nice link, climb....Thanks!

She does good work. Did you read the one she put up on the inauguration (http://kalman.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/01/29/the-inauguration-at-last/) ?

That is beautiful and give me hope for newspapers as an institution. I assume this was web only and not in the printed edition? What a creative approach to a nice story.

BTW, if you haven't been to Monticello, it is a great trip.

Not quite as captivating as the Judith Miller series on WMD's in Iraq :p

Have been to Charlottesville a few times. Charlottesville was beautiful especially Monticello and UVA. When you go through the Monticello tour you get an appreciation of T. Jefferson that you never learned in school. The guy was a genius.

I grew up in C'ville and visited Monticello 13 times by the age of 13. That's where we went every time a relative came to visit us from up north. I haven't been back to Monticello since I was 13 although I look up at the mountain every time I'm back in town for a visit.

I'll make a point to take my kids on the next trip back.
