I was poking around on the web looking up reviews for the '09 Jamis Eclipse and stumbled across this older Jamis Dakar MTB on ebay.

The seller (whom I don't know) notes that these were made by Serotta and shows a pic of the chainstay which sports a Serotta logo. I thought this was an interesting bit of Serotta history and maybe even a good deal for a Serotta fan.

dunno about the serotta connection but I worked in a shop that sold Jamis. I always liked them. to me they were similar to Bridgestone.

We did indeed make those. I don't recall exactly when but I remember them.

We also made some full suspension bikes for Girvin. They really sucked.

Mr. Kirk,

Was the Dakar the only steel frame Serotta built for Jamis? I have a steel Dakota hardtail, but I suspect it was Taiwan-built.

Just asking.
