Anyone see that race? One for the ages certainly - even people who aren't fans of motorcycle racing couldn't help but to enjoy that race.

250 HP to a tiny little contact patch. Those guys are about as brave as they come with maybe rally a close second.

FARKING AWESOME

There was more excitement in the last 3 laps of that race than there has been in the last 5 f-1 races...

Of course I'm a GP fan so I'm biased.

My favorite part was just as the announcer (ON THE us BROADCAST) said "We talked to Lorenzo (leading on camera at the time) and he said that who ever is leading going into the last 3 corners is going to win the ra ROSSI GOES UP THE INSIDE!!!!!"

I belong to the Fishers, IN rotary club and our fund raising efforts involve earning commissions on sales of official Indianapolis Motor Speedway merchandise at speedway events which are now the Indy 500(Indycar), Allstate 400 at the Brickyard (NASCAR), and the Red Bull Indianapolis GP(Moto GP).

Last year was the first year for the Moto GP event. Each event has a distinct crowd as you can imagine. I enjoyed the Moto GP crowd the most. Everyone was so friendly and having such a good time and enjoying the facility that it was downright contagious. The other crowds were good to but the Moto GP crowd was really in a class by itself. They were so amazed to learn that only three events a year are held at the Speedway. I did not have the heart to tell them that there used to be only one event! I am very much looking forward to working that event again this year.

Pretty frickin amazing !!

Thanks for posting the links. The thing about Moto GP is that it is 80% what the rider can do-and that starts in the off-season with all the testing. Rossi is a master in getting a bike to be set up to perform it's best.

The lean angles those two reach! It looked like Rossi was dragging his elbows.

I can remember in the 70s traveling in Europe with the Yamaha road race team and how Kenny Roberts knee-out cornering style allowed him to reach radical, for the day, angles.

Such an excellent race .... it's taken top step along with the Laguna race from last season as my favorite Rossi races. He's still the BEST ... and also the GOAT.

Cycling in Italy 2 years ago we came across this in Urbino, Rossi's hometown. Small and tucked out of the way, it had two of his GP bikes inside. There were more than a few #46 flags being displayed all around town. Local boy made good.

.... and, many Catalunyans are CRAZY about Rossi. Whoda thunk?!?!

My (bicycle)riding buddy and I were yelling at the top of our lungs during the last two laps. You could see the tires going away all thru the second half of the race. When Rossi left Honda, they said he couldn't win. Guess there's not much question about the rider making a difference.

Best motor vehicle race I've seen in a long time.

Just switching through the channels, I got to see the last 4 laps. Unforgettable - a really great finish.

Those are the only two races on my DVR right now. The pass in cork screw is just absurd.

That's the thing about great race stories from the past 4-5-6+ years...

It's a Rossi versus Biagi story or a Rossi versus Gibernau story or a Rossi versus Rossi or Stoner or now versus Lorenzo...

The common factor is the 46.
