NY Times today. I know a lot of Times readers are here, but this dude is kind of interesting:

I found the photographs to be some of the finest I have seen. The story was intense...a little redemption through cycling. Kind of tosses the whole spandex thing into a new perspective.

. . . That's the exact opposite of how most of my group rides go.

I liked it a lot, because of the honest discussion of 'rage' and how riding helped this man handle his.

BBD,
Classic. Thanks for the laugh.

Great story.
Makes you wonder how things would be different if at-risk kids were given mentoring in athletics rather than lectures and detentions.

great story. and those photos are a testament to a the power of a good eye and black+white. b+w images are so evocative, particularly of a city.

that's a great series in the times online. if you haven't yet, look at others.

Wow. Thanks for the link. I'm addicted!

Maybe I should get a NY Times subscription just to support content like this.

By all means, all of you, support your local newspaper.

Because even your local newspaperman has to buy new Contis every once in a while.

Very cool. He looks like some of the fixie riders in Downtown L.A.

People get into cycling for many reasons, but some common positives shine through. It feels good during and after physically and mentally.

Nothing like getting stabbed in the eye with a broken beer bottle to change how you look at things.
