Someone over at roadbike review posted that they just got these. Anyone have any information on them?

Just noticed that he says that he "can get them for $1800," . . . what a great deal, I will take 3 pairs.

Are these available in tubular for much less money and even less weight, like the reynolds?

This article mentions the new clinchers, but in the pic, the wheels do not look like the one posted above http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech/2004/shows/?id=interbike/trek

One second thought, I guess they could be the same.

It did seem kind of strange to me. I don't know or remember who did the posting there as I don't really follow that site much, but to say that you got something new and then use a photo like that, seemed strange.

If I got some new great product not on the market yet, I would show them on my bike or in my hand.

Edited to Add: the post now says that he will take delivery in February. That would explain the pics.

maybe...but probably not.....trek is shipping the new ssc sl madones with either tubular carbons or the regular alloy jobs with the associated change in price....the tubular clincher is not ready for sale yet. the jerk doesn't know when you and the jerk will see it but you and the jerk shouldn't hold your collective breath.....if you're looking for a pair of carbon fiber clincher wheels...the jerk would suggest you save your money for some nice all-season radials for your ferrarri formula one car.

I spoke with the R&d guy's at Trek and they are still testing the wheels. This is the cause for non shipping of the ssl.

But he did give you an extra shot of the gas, didn't he?

sadly, no. but his dentist's chair did have carbon seatstays...and it felt no more comfortable than the non-ST version.

Oviously you used the wrong dentist. Next time use a Serotta ST certified dentist. Eat a  1/2 hour after visiting your Serotta St certified dentist.

...but then my formula one car has a trailer hitch on it  I'll have someone interested in buying a pair so I figure we'll all ride them for a while, product research ya know.

I'll answer that. Yes! Especially at that price.
