Hey...

I thought you all might be able to help me with this. I have a Serotta Colorado CRL that has a serial number of CL62L 749. Can anyone tell me from this what the potential year model of this bike might be? I do not have a pic right now to post but if it helps the bike is a purple to black fade with the purple on top and the black on the bottom of the frame. Thanks for the help

Here's a wild-assed-guess.

I'd say 1992ish. A 62L has a longer top tube than the regular 62.

Does the top tube have internal brake cable routing or regular?

it does have internally routed cables on the top tube. it also does have the longer top tube of 61 cm. Any other guesses of a possible year. Did their frames get painted certain colors certain years?

There were stock colors available over the years but most were painted any color the rider wanted. I doubt any records exist that would show this.

1992...... maybe 1993 at the latest. These aren't like cars were there was a firm model year change. We changed stuff as the need/desire arose.

1941 sounds good. It was right before the summer of '42 and I liked that movie.

1941 was a terrible movie.

Could have been. But "Summer of '42" was a good movie.
