So today on my ride I get passed by an SUV. Polite driver, left plenty of room, not too fast, etc., etc.
As he gets maybe 20 yards ahead a squirrel darts out from the left hand side of the road, runs right at the SUV, and leaps up into the left rear wheel well.
Suffice it to say that this was a short trip as the squirrel exhibited several of Newton's Laws of Motion by having his direction changed instantaneously and he was ejected from the wheel well at a velocity at least equal to (if not greater than) his entry velocity.
\
After several tumbles, both end over end and sideways, the squirrel got up and made (more or less) a beeline back to where he started.
Dumb rodent.
