View Full Version : How to remove the "stuff" on new Michelin tires?

I'm just putting on some new Michelin Kylions tires on one of my bikes. I like these as everyday tires, but I dislike the way they look out of the package. How do you remove the white gunk on the outside of the tire? It goes away after 50-100 miles, but I beleive that my traction must be reduced during that time and they look terrible.

Anyone have a trick?

It's just mold release, not at all a detriment except perhaps to your eyes. Damp rag should work dandy.
