I finally decided to get a pair of Nokian Extreme 296 from http://aebike.com/site/page.cfm?PageID=30&SKU=TR1100 (they have them in stock and seem to have the best price I can find). Too dangerous to commute on the regular tires this winter (too much snow and too icy) ...

Sandy, you need those tires for Mt. Washington. You also need a new Ottrott-CHT (a Serotta secret project)...

Nokian Hakkapelitta 700x35 studded is the right stuff for riding black ice and packed snow. The tires you are ordering will be good for that AND will crawl up ruts etc.

These are AWESOME tires. Be sure to follow the break in instructions.

Oh, if you are on a training plan it counts as a weight lifting day

I think the head shop foreman Jared built himself an Ottrott MTB so if they are thinking to mass produce these it will certainly be interesting. Also expensive.
At the open house we knew of this but no one pressed him to bring it by and show it off, were a bunch of roadies anyway.

Smiley,
"...Jared built himself an Ottrott MTB..."
What? I was not the first one to know this secret. :crap:
Seriously, could you press him to show us some pix?
