I had a bunch of wooden rims a few years ago, but other than the ones I used for the antique bikes I sold them off. Wooden rims and potholes don't go together well, they make for a nice soft ride (and a lot of spoke noise) until you hit the last pothole of their life, then it's not so soft any more. Building a set of those wheels is also not a one shot deal. You build them, they come out of true as the washers settle into the rim. You true them, you ride, the same thing happens to a lesser degree. Once you get to the point where they're staying in true, you tie and solder them so you can hear yourself think while you ride...

I have a 1909 BSA stayer bike with wooden rims, one is enough...
