Whew! That was a bit of uploading...I gotta buy myself a beer.
This was V!per's inaugural cruise on the DeSalvo. He was very excited to have some pics posted for his friend, Jack, in hopes they'd find him ever more healthy.
Enjoy, Jack. Enjoy, all.

Awesome pictorial.

For a second, I thought it was a Kas version of a De Rosa Neo Primato.

This is even nicer!!

Nice picts & beautiful ride, and I miss the K-man.

He's probably the only guy who would have picked up on the "Buddy Hinton" refrence a couple days back.

PS: Tell Viper to top that off he needs some black or dark gray HandleBra.

Viper confessed to a deep crush on the new Uhura. Here's a "Viper fix" detailing the ride (alas, no youtube links). I'm sure he wouldn't mind my sharing it with the group:

Glad all is well. I am jealous of the climbing you have in your backyard. Long Island is quite flat, but I know that Centerport and Northport (as well as other towns on the North Shore) where I live are very Tour of Flanderish; we have brutal 1/3 and 1/2 mile climbs. The DeSalvo needs to have the cables trimmed as I wasn't quite certain of my stem height. It took all of two minutes to get the bike dialed in...seat went down a few cm and back a few cm. I snagged some whitewall Michelins to complete the vintage/Campy ethos and replaced my (black) Campy Protons for some (silver) Ventos. I am impressed with the Ventos during my 30 miles today. For gameday in Colorado I am going to steal Brunks' flyweight carbon wheels and replace his with my Ventos. He won't notice until the first hill.

For my first ride out this season my goal was 30 miles, mouth closed for every inch, no freewheel and to take it easy. I went out hard and came back faster. Duh. Apparently my excitement was released into my pedals. I will say that 170 cranks (I've used 175 and 172.5 in the past) are awesome, I'd recommend them for anyone with a bum knee. I'm 6' tall and I think I'll stick w/170's.

I typically run a compact crank and a pizza pie cassette (13/29). It was interesting to have a 53/39 and an 11/23 in the rear. The bike with pedals and some heavy Ventos weighs 18.5 lbs. That's fine for an arrow, the Indian needs to lose 8 pounds.

My arse is sore. The Rolls saddle is awesome, reminds me of what came on my Schwinn Collegiate Sport circa 1980. So my arse needs time on the saddle and I need to drop eight pounds for the Triple Bypass. I'll lose five pounds watching the 2008 Tour day Flanders. Just snagged the dvd, I'll send you copy, it rocks.

I have the hots for Uhura from the new Star Trek. Wow, she is hot.

Very pretty bike but unfortunately the VIPER is no longer in residence here.

Yes first close....in a while. Love the bike and the pictures but there is too much broken glass in regard to the Viper. Sorry.

This closure in NO WAY is a "slam" on Jack nor Steve. Pete
