Just when many are lamenting the price of decent bikes, here's my third bike assembled almost entirely from the Serotta forum.

From the forum:
IF Crown Jewel, Thomson post, CK 1" HS
DA7800
White H1 laced to DT 1.1's
Alliante saddle

Recycled from the previous ride:
Ritchie handlebars
Deda Neuton stem
Conti 4000's
Speedplay Zeros

Total outlay--$1450.00

Built it last night, shakeout cruise today, rides like a dream. Took it up a local climb, stopped to find my lung, check brakes, cables, wheels, skewers, and triggered a radar gun at 52 MPH on the descent. Solid as a rock.

Thanks forumites for offering the good stuff! Great bikes don't have to break the bank.

Ohbytheway-- I'm in the market for a silver stem to complete the circle of bling-- 31.8, 100-110mm, 6-10' negative angle. Just in case someone has one in the drawer. Also, I'll give someone a hell of a deal on a 2005 Orbea Orca F/F/HS, 57cm square. Great bike, just too sporty for this 48 year old non-racer...will list with photos and details as soon as I wash it...

Cheers, Chris

Congratulations on building such a unique, quality bike on budget; puts the high end bikes to shame.

Very nice ride.

I wish I were of more "standard" dimensions so I had more opportunities.

Sweet bike.
PM me if you're interested in a 110mm Deda Zero in the "metal polish" finish. It's unused, won't be used and is just taking up closet space.

...... puts the high end bikes to shame.

That is a high end bike--IF with DA/White Ind hubs/Speedplay etc... is very high end, just not the high-end new bike price.

...on a great buy/build. Love the color. I've got an Indy Fab fork on my old Merlin cross, they do real quality work.

What was the descent?

Is it just the angle of the pic or are the handlebars really rotated up that far?

Good question-- Crappy pic-- the bartops and hoods are level.

Olympic Park entrance-- you should know it well. The cops had a "Your Speed Is" sign at the bottom of the steep pitch. Who could resist?

That seems pretty good for that hill. I guess I was watching over you from the bottom of the hill :)

Did you know that some of those signs max out before they get to 99? Or so I hear.

How is it in the twisties? Something like the back road from Jeremy through Red Hawk would be a good test.
