I have a possiblity of purchasing a Serotta Legend bike from a friend comlete with, I believe a Campy G3 wheel on the back. I have a concern that the wheel may not be substantial enough for my 230 lbs weight. I will be riding on roads with moderate amounts of bumps and will try to avoid the major potholes.

Will this wheel serve me?

Personally, I've had mixed experience with the wheels. . .
If it's a good deal, I would probably go for it and sell the wheels for some campy hubs and open pro rims (or something like these. . .phil, chris king, dt, etc. . .but a handmade wheel). If you are going to put the wheels through a beating, might as well build them up to take a beating.

I had a pair of zondas once that wouldn't stay true.
Campy was cool and sent me a new pair at cost. Those were fine. . .

Personally, I'll never buy g3 wheels again

fwiw, i'm 215-220 on any given day, and i'm on older (2005?) campy eurus wheels with the g3 rear. it's fine for me and i'm not really gentle on my gear. never had to true em either. which is good, cuz i'm not really sure how to on these wheels. i love em, they ride great.

195 to 205 lbs. on Campy Eurus G-3's for several years now. No problems.
If I really wanted bomb proof wheels I would do as itsflantastic suggests.
