i read another article by sheldon brown. i was just sent to his page on revisionist bike sizing when i googled seat tube angles.

man, i miss that guy.

I agree. His clever solutions to common bike building issues are really helpful. I was just reading his description of how to turn a short reach modern brake caliper into a long-reach, using stock aluminum. Problem solved.....for $3.00.
