I was just wondering if there are any current or former Nobilette owners out there who could provide me with some feedback or insight on the bikes. I may have the opportunity to get a nice custom one. I don't have a steel lugged frames in the heard right now so I am kind of leaning that way. I do spend most of my time doing big climbs or playing catch-up to my racing friend who only have one speed, which is all out.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Nobilette is a top tier builder. He been around for over 30 years and can build road, cross, or mountain frames in either steel, aluminum, or titanium. He's skilled at fillet brazing, TIG welding, or working with lugs. He's the real deal and doesn't need to waste his time tooting his own horn in bike forums. I don't own one of his frames but have talked with a few locals over the years who do and love em.

He also builds the American Herse frames for Mike Kone

Let me know if you need any help with the tiling or carpentry. ;)

I think he's doing the bulk of the custom Rivendells these days. That'd be a pretty good pedigree for lugged steel. I don't know squat about how good he is as a fitter/designer because Grant does all of that stuff for Riv, but he's gotta be a good builder.

Mark Nobilette is a disciple of Albert Eisentraut, the Godfather of American framebuilding, and knows a thing or two about fitting and designing. I would rank Nobilette amongst the top tier framebuilders. Go for it!
