This looks like it was my teammate's (Clark Foy) bike:

He flew back from the Bay Area to do this race with a friend and from what I've learned it looked like his bars broke while descending and he crashed pretty hard. He ended up having two surgeries to reconstruct his elbow. Bummer.

My buddy was riding just behind him and off to the side. It was in a high speed decent. He thought he hospital bound for sure. He just flew off the road and into the brush towards a stone wall. Scary.

Yeah, the stone wall is what did the damage to the elbow. He's flying back to the Bay Area today...hopefully well medicated so the flight won't be too bothersome.
