So I read on this forum about the forum "across the hall". Checked it out as a guest, registered, and a few hours later got an email that my registration did not meet their membership requirements. (All they asked for was my birthdate and email address which I provided.)

Any insight from those Serotta forumites who post on both sites??

I am not going to lose any sleep over this but it seems strange to me.

Why dont you ask them. Too Tall is the owner/moderator. He also posts here.

Just ask him. He hasn't posted here as far as I know since he started the Velocipede Salon. Too bad, he got me hooked on tubies and I always found his advice valuable.

Just got a pm from one of the moderators. They have been hit with spambots recently so I got dinged unintentionally. He took my name and email and said he would take care of it.

The spambots are the excuse they always give.

Uisng you IP address, they do an initial review of how often you have logged on before requesting membership. If you have not been viewing much and your IP address shows that you are located in the same region of someone that they previoulsy banned, they automatically reject you.

E-Richie is one of the more inviting mods. I suspect it was him that contacted you.

Same thiung happened to me. I just reg'd under my 2nd e-mail address and it went right through.

funny, i was thinking about the two forums on my ride today. i enjoyed it when we were all one big dysfunctional family. the range of interests and personalities was cool. both forums have their strengths, but together i thought it was even better.
