Can I use a Campy cartridge bearing BB like the Centaur to replace an Italian C-Record BB without having chainstay clearance problems? I believe the old C-Record spindle was offset and Campy's later BB's were symmetrical. I've heard that a triple kind of works. Thanks!

On the old Branford Bike website they used to sell a modern record bb for use with older c-record groups but I believe it was symmetrical. They don't list it anymore.
Doesn't Phil make a bb to fit these cranks?

Royce would be another good bet. I guess there is an outside chance that you could use a Miche or older Stronglight BB too, since these were/are ISO also. The difficulty would be finding one....

The Centaur BB is the one you want for your C-Rec Crankset. You can also use Campy's track BB but it lacks a couple of seals if you ride in the rain. I stocked up a while back and run the 110mm Athena BB with my C-Record Cranksets. I'm quite sure the C-Record Crankset was designed for a 110 to 111mm symmetrical BB. Phil and TA would be other options for ISO BB tapers in this size.
