sram Rival complete group or mixed?

I have read many different posts about people mix matching rival with ultegra because the cassette and chain from rival do not operate well or are too loud.

I am curious for the Sram riders out there, do you have an all rival group? or did you find it necessary to get and ultegra cassette and chain? I also heard from a few posts the rival crank and brakes are not "that" great but are still usable. I am just looking for some all around feedback on rival and if anyone found the need to mixmatch with shimano?

Do a search here and across the hall as there have been recent threads.

Lots of riders using shimano cassettes and chains and non-Sram cranks. Also lots of riders using all Sram.

I'm running SRAM Rival shifters/derailleurs/ and SRAM red cassette. I swapped out my sram 1090R chain for an Ultegra after the Red Chain snapped. Brakes are Campy Skeleton D and Crank is FSA K-Force SL-K.
