How well do 130mm hubs with 10 speed block fit into 126mm rear spacing? Are there any issues I should be aware of or will just a little stretch suffice?

Generally speaking.... not very well. The faces of the dropouts end up being less than parallel. It kind of depends on your standards / expectations.

If at all possible, I would not go that route. I have one bike that has 130mm spacing, and is using a 126 hub. The hub will soon be upgraded / changed to 130.

using my 1983 eddy merckx with 126 spacing and a 130 hub.

works fine, in my book.

can scatch black ano axles a bit when pulling stays apart.

get it spread to 130 is you have al ocal framebuilder to do it.

Steve Rex inSac, CA has done several bikes for me.

makes wheel changes easier. and who has 126 hubs anymore.

Get the steel frame coldset by a shop/builder. It'll make things easier with the 130. Will keep the dropouts square to each other as well.

The first Shimano 130 mm hubs had a tapered cone nut to make speading it into place easier but like stated above you can end up with a not so perfect rear traingle. Take it to a good shop, if they don't have the ability to spread a steel frame they aren't a good shop ;) , pay a few bucks and have it done right.

not ideal, but not a big issue. it's all of 2mm per side. if you are moving over to 130 permanently, probably worth cold-setting. pretty sure sheldon brown has advice on this. (cold setting just means putting a permanent bend) this all assumes you are talking about a steel frame otherwise, none of the replies have any bearing anyway

have you actually measured the rear spacing on the frame. depending on year and manufacturer, from what i understand, there was a transition period in like 1983-1984 when some manufacturers were using a 128mm rear spacing to acommodate both 126 and 130.
