I just read an on-line entertainment article saying the Sarah Connor Chronicles is not going to be renewed for a third season.

I'm bummed.

Really.

Maybe he will build up that Look.

So many saddles, so little time. But now, perhaps, more time!

I read the same article as you did (I presume) and what it REALLY said was that Fox has yet to make a decision and will announce the Fall schedule on May 18th.(which is what I have been saying all along).

Yes, the ratings have not been great. But, it hits the demographic the advertisers are looking for (male 18-34), supposedly the firts season DVD sales are tremendous, its very popular overseas, there is the tie-in with Terminator 4 and it is an established show...

Ok, with all that being said, I have it under pretty good authority that the show will NOT be coming back.

Where does that leave me, you ask? I have been in the TV and movie business for a bit over 29 years and the last 4 of them I have been working with the same group of producers-staff. Supposedly, we are either coming back to do a 3rd season of T:SCC for Warner Brothers/Fox or we are going to start a new Bruckheimer detective show for Warner Brothers/ABC.

Either way, I wont be selling off any bikes (except the Hors Categorie), the mortgage will be paid and I will will still be spending an exorbitant amounts of cash trying out "modern-plastic" saddles until I truly find the perfect one for me (and selling off the discards at a very nice price).

Thank you for asking,

Steve

PS: I just paid the electric bill and the high speed Internet service bill, so I will be posting on here for a while longer.

Resist the urge to nuke the messenger, but multiple sources are telling me that Fox will not be renewing Terminator: The Summer Glau Sarah Connor Chronicles for a third season.

"It's done," maintains a source close to the show. "Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks." Adds a network insider: "Consider it canceled."

The one bright spot? Despite horrific ratings, Fox isn't ready to declare SCC dead and buried -- at least not officially. "No decision has been made yet," insists a network rep. "We will be announcing our fall schedule on May 18."

Rough translation: It won't be back.

Oh, I just thought of one other bright spot: At least the show went out on top creatively. Last Friday's finale was an action-packed, closure-filled triumph. The only thing left unresolved is what Summer Glau will do for an encore. I'm thinking 24 should hire her as next season's Big Bad.

SoCal, does this also mean a Bedford is in your future ?

I really dig the show. Hopefully it will come back.

Steve, Did the decision have anything to do with the new Terminator movie coming out soon?

What decision? Nothing has been made "official" yet by Fox.

May 18th is when we will all REALLY know for sure. Until then its all speculation and conjecture.

Thanks,

Steve

If and when the Hors Categorie sells ( I have no more space for bikes), I really cannot think of any bike that I lust for (that I dont already own) except for a Speedvagen. The next batch wont even be in production for another year (Spring 2010). I think the 2009 Road Vagen hasnt even been delivered as yet.

And, as of now, I am limiting my spending to saddles. Expensive "modern plastic" saddles.

Atmo plastic is over-rated.

Steve- If the series is officially pronounced toast (I, among many, hope not), can "someone" leak the remaining scripts so that the rest of us can find out what the writers had in mind?

Just Wondering, Chris

Frikin AYE....

I've been sitting here thinking what's next and, because Time Travel is ine there, obviously anything could happen.

The "Never heard of John Connor" thing was a great twist. and all I could think of was "SOMEONE TOSS SUMMER IN A MEAT LOCKER AND PRESERVE THAT CHASIS!!!"

my guess would be that steve is already thinking about a colnago eps in his search for the perfect bike after having such great results with an extreme power. just saying! :-)

A bit of T:SCC production history.

The Pilot was shot in New Mexico in the summer of 2007. I had nothing to do with that.

We then shot 8 episodes and the writers strike shut down production (this was from August to December of 2007. So, at this point there are 9 episodes complete.

We then come back in May of 2008 to shoot 13 more episodes. At, I believe, number 11 or so we find out that we get picked up for another 9 episodes. This takes us through the end of February of 2009.

We now have shot and aired 31 episodes. There are no more scripts ordered by Fox nor at this point (we find out May 18th) if we will come back to shoot a 3rd season.

So, to answer your question: Unless Josh Friedman has scripts that have been written by him and the other writers (but not ordered or paid for), there are no more T:SCC scripts.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Steve

PS: As a Warner Brothers employee, I have to sign a non-disclosure form which says that I can be terminated if I let anyone see the scripts. All the pages of every script are numbered and watermarked. Each person who gets a script has their own unique number (mine is 119). When we are done with each script, there are special recycling bins that they must be disposed of in.

Talk about diminishing returns!

I cannot imagine that an EPS can be that much better (for so many $1,000.00 more than an EP).

No, I think the EP is pretty much a real winner.

I am thinking about doing a circumcision soon on the Look 595 though.

Just sayin'

I am not in the target demographic for this show but I love it. (I am a 45-year old woman, and advertisers seem to assume we have no disposable income.) I will now start imagining endings for the series.

By the way Summer Glau's terminator was the best part of the show. She has fabulous comic timing.

So... SoCalSteve... ref posts #13 and 14-- Can you just make something up? I was really hoping that the series would run long enough to wrap back forward to the original Terminator movie...

I like the show and hope it comes back. Would like to see how it unfolds in the future with the human Cameron. How do we end up with a terminator Cameron?

I'd do better talking about the pro's and con's of "modern plastic" saddles and "leather" saddles.

Just sayin'

Steve

PS: Shhh, dont tell anyone, I am not a big fan of science fiction. The work I do has absolutely nothing to do with the creative process. It could be a porno, detective show, western or sci-fi, I'd still be doing the same job.
