Will U Conn do it and finish it undefeated or Does Jayne Appel hold a surprise or two, If Jayne can't get it done, do the Paris sisters work em over. How about the Caoch for OU, is she Hott or is it my mid life crisis acting up again :)

Please chime in as I am a fan of the womens game, depressed my Terrapins did not get it done against LU.

I told a preacher once that I thought that my idea of hell would be that if someone was going to go to hell that they would have to spend eternity doing whatever it was that was their worse nightmare while alive....I'm convinced that if I go to hell I will be sentenced to watching girls basketball forever! I HATE IT!....but I've got to admit, they sure can shoot free throws better than most of the guys!

Not a big fan of woman's BB in general, but I went to University of Louisville (and I live in Maryland) so I got sucked in for the Cards/Terps matchup. Anyway, I will watch part of the Championship game now that UofL has made it.

Cheers

This is very dangerous for me to do BUT I am sticking and opening this thread to some observations and opinions..

Purpose of thread (Keep in mind that SMILEY has a sincere interest in woman basketball)

Comments and if they are something that is cycle related or even "group" discussions on life in general for we drift quite often (me included) ???

You ask why I am asking this ? There have been some concern about the thread and the connotations AND I wanted to get some "Constructive" opinions and also no locker room crap. PLEASE

We are a mixed audience and sometimes the guys need some sensitivity awareness or in my old mind - manners.... (But then maybe I am wrong and that would not be a first.. THANKS

I saw about 10 minutes of the game yesterday (UConn v Stanford) and I thought "Wow, this isn't the "girls" basketball I remember...."

They were good.....no showboat crap....just good basketball.

. . . no matter who it is against, and it can take subtle forms that those uttering it may just not realize make it discriminatory. It's not a matter of being overly "PC," but rather just a matter of being courteous and sensitive to others feelings. Anyone wandering in and sitting down at the forum bar for a drink and some talk should remember that the forum includes members of all genders, nationalities, political, religious, and sexual orientations. You can still be funny, entertaining, and informative without being denigrating.

The best women's basketball was Iowa High School rules - 6 v. 6, 3 on 3 half court. It was fantastic.

I am not sure about 6-on-6 sounds a bit crazy and congested....though I've never seen it or played it, so not sure. I was a shooting guard and point guard. I love 3-on-3 ball, the passing and general dynamic of play is great and fun to watch. For high school I can see that being better for some guys and girls play. But for the big girls and guys level I think they can handle the 5-on-5.

I've always loved the girls bb. They just move so much smoother on the court. It's more about finesse than power.

And for a sweeping statement ;) They play defense.

More than just defense, they play TEAM, not this one-on-one, thump your chest, hang from the rim game that has become the norm in both the NCAA and the NBA.
