I think recumbent people are fun, they're kind of like the conspiracy theorists of cycling. If Art Bell ever has a cycling guest on his radio show, it'll be a recumbent rider.

could it be described as erotic?

Looks pretty fast to me.

If they changed the ridiculous restrictions on the types of frame you can use in the TDF I've sure you'd see some of these in TT and flat stages. Once the pros gave them their seal of approval all the wannabes would suddenly find 'bents much cooler than before.

And yeah, I'll admit it, I want one!

I'd like to take one for a ride. Preferably someplace where a lot of people can't see it. hehe

How do they ride by the way?

Cool bikes, I'd give one a try. My only concern would be riding that low making me harder to be seen by drivers.

I have ridden with bent riders in various charity events and some of those guys can flat out haul A$$.

I tried a recumbent at one of the CABDA shows with some other kids I worked with. We were all 16 and promptly ejected from the show.

I never considered trying one again until now. I'm thinking Bike Polo. I might loose some teeth but I'd have fun doing it.

Before I bought the Ottrott I owned nearly every bent made but it's a bit tough in pacelines. They are more alike in speed to a tandem faster on the flats and a bit slower on the hills. I owned a couple of Velokrafts and yes they are wicked fast and the only bent I owned that racers thought was cool...rolling art.

As one of the guys on the link said, it’s screaming for front-wheel-drive.

The low racers have a couple of week learning curve to master but once you get it they are a blast. I had no problems in traffic using uncommon sense. At about 160 watts on a low racer with a tailbox i'd be cruising in the 22.5 range and compared to my Ottrott the higher the speed the greater the benefit.
