Guys;

I have a chance to be in Southern California for about 10 days in January.
I was wondering about road riding "meccas" out there. Any suggestions?

Has anyone ridden the roads in Joshua tree? any good?

Thanks

Victory Factory, have Atlanta, will travel

PS: no 4000' climbs please, I'm old and fat

If you're out in the desert area head south to the Anza Borrego Desert. Flat and beautiful and nice smooth quiet roads. If you get the mood to climb try Montezuma Grade, my personal favorite. Awesome views. Also try North San Diego county inland or coast, very nice.

If and when you are in Los Angeles, you have a 40 mile loop of bike path along the Pacific Ocean. Truly amazing riding! During the week is better, too many people on the weekends.

Tailwinds!

Casa del Zoro is in Borrego Springs (San Diego County) amidst Anza-Borrego desert and it is very nice. Roads as described above.
January is the rainy season in San Diego. It can be sunny, as usual, or we might be getting some of that 9" of rain a year. There are plenty of good places to ride along the coast too. I ride most of the mountains on my BMW R1100R. I'll be skiing 1/9-1/15. I can ride with you or introduce you you to others riders
There are great places to ride up north but the farther north you go the higher the probability of rain.
San Diego today is mid 70s and breezy.
