I am looking for a brake lever (no gears) with the cable on the outside rather than routed under the bar wrap. Any recommendations? Thanks.

I assume you mean "non-aero" levers?
How much are you willing to spend? Ben's Link (http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6914)
Cheaper option: you can probably buy an old garage-sale bike for $20 and take the levers off that.

Search for "Nuovo Record brake levers" on eBay. Lots of inexpensive options there.

Thanks, now it's down to the age old "Campy or Shimano?" question. With a complete set of Suntour Superbe (including the brakes) to make it interesting.

I've got a clean hoodless, Campagnolo Record lever from the early/mid 80's I can sell you for $10 ($15 shipped).

Cane Creek also makes a nice set with quick release button in gum or black hoods.

I have a pair of these with black hoods and they work great. When combined with brake calipers with opener levers you can install pretty fat tires fully inflated.
