Anyone know what size it is? I've tried 13 & 14mm close but not quite right.
Thanks.

It's British.
Just be thankful it's not Whitworth.

My guess would be that it's because England didn't convert to the metric system until well after Brooks started making saddles. According to Wikipedia they didn't switch over until the 1960s.

Different sizes for different saddles.

My Ti Swallow and Ti B17 Sprinter use a 16mm and my Brooks Pros (both steel and ti) use a 14mm.

:edit: haven't tried using my English wrenches which would probabl be a snugger fit.

Campagnolo used to make a special wrench for adjusting the Record seatpost with a Brooks Professional saddle on it. The wrench had a couple of bends to let it sneak under the saddle skirt and over the seatpost bolts. The other end had a wrench that fit the Brooks tensioning nut. I still have the one that came with my P15 Paramount in 1972.
