I noticed recently (after a 165-mile weekend) that I'm now within 200 miles of getting in 6,000 miles this year. So unless the weather becomes completely uncooperative (and so far it looks like sun, or at least no rain, for the next week and a half here in the Bay Area), I should get to six thousand miles for the year in a walk. Especially considering I have six more days off this year!

After a pretty indifferent riding schedule from 1992 through 2001, I did 4,600 miles in 2002, 5,600 last year, and maybe a shade over 6,000 this year. But the most encouraging news is that in the six months after I took delivery on my Legend, I put in just over 3,500 miles on it. Does that mean I'll have 7,000 miles next year?

Not too bad for fast approaching my middle forties and working five days a week...:-)

Good job Eric! The weather looks good here in Capitola for the next week at least so you should be fine in your neck of the woods- Hell, you might make 6,200 this year. Thats only about 4 times has many miles has I got in this year

Keep eyes open and pedal dang it! I was under 300 miles to my outdoor mileage goal this year and said something about it...
promptly crashed and tore my MCL/ACL/LCL etc...I *have* gotten some outside miles in since, but boy were they difficult!

Believe me—I'm really really scared about crashing a $7,500 bike. Even after six months and 3,500 miles, I still get shivers thinking about it. Plus, I assume motorists are aiming for me. Brings whole new meaning to the term "defensive rider." :-)
