I'm looking for a sequence of illustrations showing the progressive slope of a top tube from horizontal to several degrees of slope in increments of either 1/2 a degree or 1 degree per illustration. Does anyone know where I can see such a sequence?

Thank you.

Play around with this java applet (http://www.bikeforest.com/CAD/bcad.php) . IMO you'll not really notice changes <2*.

Interesting question for small changes. I’m thinking that a slight change in the slope of the top tube is probably not as noticeable to the eye as the amount of seat post showing and/or the length of the head tube. I say this only because when I replaced the fork on a bike last weekend it changed the top tube from level to slightly angled, but since the lengths of the seat post and head tube were not affected it’s hard to see the difference unless looking for it.

Hence I'd expect that if the top tube was sloped 2 degrees down it would look different if only taken down at the ST end, only taken up at the HT, or the difference was split between HT and ST. That’s a lot of combinations to model but well worth it if you are meticulous.

Both of my bikes have a 2 degree slope and it is hardly discernible.

Go to Seven's website. They show a variety of slopes. Dig around.

The nail on the head reply :-)

Yeh, I'm trying to be meticulous (more fool me), but without the tools to hand it feels like trying to stick the tail on the donkey...blind folded.

The seat post is the main issue for me. Not enough post and it will look terrible, which I'm determined to avoid.
