Had to cry today

I know there are plenty of reasons for crying today (economy, 401(k), wmd, relationship with the cool girl that has gone south, etc.). One of my favorite bands was blind faith with eric xlapton and steve winwood. Anyway, they are touring together. If anyone has a chance, you should check them out.

In June...

Saw Steve Winwood in Aspen the summer before last - absolutely amazing show. He seems to remember his audience is important!

Saw Clapton a couple years before that and felt the same way. Should be great fun to see them together!

Ahh, that brought back some memories.
Too bad they only lasted one album. Steve Winwood's voice has sure stood the test of time (and age). Anybody hear Roger Daltrey's lately?

I apologize in advance but....

Who?

Back to the OP....

This is one reconstructed band I would love to see live.

A really tempting concert. Problem for me is the 'big venue' thing.
I'm really much more into seeing groups in smaller settings. Though with two names likes this it is all but impossible.

Ah... Steve Winwood....solo album 1977... tracks like "hold on" & "vacant chair" send shivers up and down my spine. An original vinyl I treasure along with odd stuff like Deep Purple's "come taste the band" and well you all know the stuff...Must look to see if they are doing Oz

I'll go see 'em when they have Ginger Baker back on the traps.

Got my tickets for the Twin Cities. Have you read Clapton's and Pattie Boyd's autobiographies? Plenty of juicy stuff. If only I could find my way back home . . .

God, those are great clips. Can barely see Clapton. Winwood was occasionally out of tune, but he sang with WAAAAAY more soul than any 21 year old should be able to. I almost felt like I was stoned just watching those.

I checked ticketron and it looks like the tix are sold out for d.c. Hopefully, the concert will make it to dvd. The Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood song was from the 2007 Crossroads Concert in Chicago. The Blind Faith songs were from the Blind Faith concert at Hyde Park. Both were on dvd and both were very good.
