I bought a Cannondale Caad 8 frameset with premuim slice fork. Cannondale built these with an integated headset. The frameset I bought did not include a headset. So would there be an issue if I built it with a non-integrated headset?

Thanks...

If you're asking if you can install a non-integrated headset into a frame designed for an integrated headset, the answer is no.

The main issue would be.... it won't fit.

The frame is designed for the campagnolo style internal headset,
which is commonly available from FSA, Cane Creek, and others.

I was afraid of that... Well, I guess the King HS I had intended for it will go unused and now I need to find a integrated HS. Anyone have an integrated headset on the cheap?

There are several different types, which are not interchangeable.
Make sure you get the right one.

all caad cannondale road bikes with the integrated type
headset take the "campagnolo" style...
so there is no confusion with that bit.

The head tube is 45mm on the outside, and the inside diameter
where the bearing sits is 41.8mm

This is "I.S." type in FSA speak: ORBIT IS

or Ritchey Drop in: "campagnolo" type

campagnolo hiddenset:

A cannondale dealer should stock them, but you don't need tools
to install the bearings, they drop right into the frame.
But if you're not handy, seek help.
