With a Serotta 700c frame that has a carbon head tube and lugs, is there a minimum overall head tube length? The design of the lugs seem to dictate that there would be a minimum? Does anyone know what it is please?

Thank you.

Yes, the carbon lugs, as with any lug, dictate a minimum head tube length. Nobody can tell you what that minimum is, and it is less than that required for our stock geometry 48cm frame size. This is not much of a restriction, therefore, for Serotta's carbon frames.

jpw: Brian is right that it will change with BB drop and angles. Having said that, on a 48 cm HSG carbon for example, HT length is 10 cm.

If a frame is going to be that small, isn't 650 a better solution?

That puts me well within the range.

650? I don't think Serotta is making the carbon stays in that wheel size.

jpw: no all carbon 650 c wheel frames. If frame needs to be 650 then go with an Ottrott. 700 c wheel bikes, if we can design to fit points is a better option in our opinion. Sometimes the geo forces our hand but Steve Fairchild is very good at looking at all options.
