Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet
known to science. The new element "Governmentium" (symbol=Gv), has one
"neutron", 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons and 198 assistant
deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are
held together by forces called "morons", which are surrounded by vast
quantities of lepton-like particles called "peons".

Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be
detected, because it impeded every reaction with which it comes into
contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would
normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to
complete. Governmentium, has as normal half-life of 2 to 6 years. It does
not decay, but instead undergoes a "reorganization" in which a portion of
the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact,
Governmnetium's mass will actually increase over time, since each
reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming
"isodopes." This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists
to
believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical
concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as "critical
morass". When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes "Administratium"
(symbol=Ad), an element that radiates just as much energy as
Governmentium,
since it has half as many peons, but twice as many morons.

They musn't have been looking too hard if they did not find it some time during the previous eight years.

As a physicist, I'm disappointed that you didn't even attempt to make any of the details somewhat correct.

I thought that it was Chucktanium, which supposedly has the power of five roundhouse kicks to the head.

The Ten Cannots - William J. H. Boetcker
published in 1916

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
You cannot build character and courage by destroying men's initiative and independence.
And you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.

In lighter news, New Hampshire seems to want secession from The Union, along with 25 other states:

Oh they keep digging up the same tired old ideas and trying though. Maybe this time it'll work? http://tinyurl.com/9a6at

You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

I wonder what % of the US population and/or commercial endeavor has never borrowed money in some form or other over their life.

They musn't have been looking too hard if they did not find it some time during the previous eight years.Funny thing is that Governmentium has been around for at least a few years. I received it as an E-Mail some time back, and found in a Google search that it dates back at least three or four years.

Critics of big government preceded the present administration, and the Bush one as well. ;)

And then there is the GV isodope.
The Full Life of GV isodope is about 100 years.

Every 100 years it looses 98% of it's purchasing power.

Is this about Geitner, Burris, Daschle, Biden and all the other tax cheats/plagarists/lobbyists/perjurers our "smart" President has told us are "necessary"?

Preaching about fiscal responsibility after passing a trillion dollar spending plan...That's rich.

And my all time fav: $20 million to resettle Hamas terrorists in the USA. Audacity in deed.

. . . that a perfectly humorous GENERAL political witticism cannot be posted on this board without people turning it partisan? This joke can be applied to ALL government. Why can't people just take it for what it is without going at each other--because I am absolutely sure that's where it's going.

I'm locking this one. I'll make some room in my PM box and put on my flameproof suit.
