Cool house on eBay (and another unfortunate victim of our economy)...

It's sort of cool. But strikes me that they spent beyond their means. The style seems excessively individualistic.

Like 85% of Americans atmo.

I think the cave is cool. It could've been from a 70's Bionic Man episode, where Steve Austin goes for a vaction only to bump into Big Foot.

horrid interior taste. The kitchen looks like something out of the OC not the MO.

I'm holding out for a missile silo all my own.

Come up to Washington and buy a nuclear cooling tower. There might be a couple left over. Thank WPPSS.

I wonder if the 300K frn is their Rock Bottom price?

Does it come with parking for a BatMobile?

Hey, that's not far from here. I'm not sure what Festus itself is like, not terribly familiar with the area. The place strikes me as the type of thing where either you live in a bit of a mess the whole time or you spend a bunch of money having somebody else fix it up or you spend half your life slowly improving the thing, and if you have taste and are talented you end up with a cool home. Lots of potential if you put in lots of effort.

Can you say radon?

(actually I'm curious--could this be a deal breaker?)

poor dude.
It was obviously a labor of love, but he said in an interview he got nailed by a balloon payment. (In the pictures it looks like he got nailed by a nail gun too)

Wouldn't work for me though: I don't like electric cook-tops, and my fiancee is afraid of spiders.

On the plus side, great wine storage space!

Probably not enough space for all of Pete's red. :)

It is a shame for the very reason you said. He did say that he gave a 50% down payment, if I remember correctly. That is extremely high, I would think. The economy just got him. Really sad.

Here's another one that I heard about last year, still for sale. No work needed but you'd have to be Bruce Wayne to afford it...
