Anyone know the advertised weight a for a set of '05 Campy Proton wheels? I'm trying to figure out where they would fit in today's world of Campy wheels and haven't found the info on the net. Thanks..

Campagnolo's Proton Wheelset is light, efficient and durable; in short the ideal upgrade for your favorite ride. You'll roll, climb, accelerate and corner better thanks to the lightweight low-profile aluminum rims, oversize aluminum hubs and minimal spoke count. These wheels are built to hold up, too, with optimum spoke tension thanks to Campy's asymmetrical rear rim.

Front: 680 grams
Rear: 960 grams
Pair: 1,640 grams

Nice wheels... Chorus hubs and durable rims.

I think they are closest to today's regular (non-Ultra) Neutrons, which have similar, non-machined rims.

My climbing  wheels are Protons and flatland wheels are Vento. But, I've never known how much the Protons weighed. And, once I shed 20 pounds, I might even worry about that. But...........I doubt it.

Thanks.

Protons. Mmmmmmm.

Had them on the Atlanta, and it just didn't get much better than that.

mine are about 1700g (i weighed one of my two pairs once). they're heavier than what you can get elsewhere, but they're great wheels nonetheless. you build great hand strength changing tires.
