let's say you wanted to use a 1 inch threaded carbon fork in a frame with a 1.125 headtube. this of course would be primarily to be able to use a quill stem, etc.
does this look like a route that would work in a straight forward fashion, or am I looking for some weird bike world compatibility problem?

i think chris king also has some combo that would do the the job in the devoluiton line:

The devolution has the same interface as regular headset, but with a smaller inner bore. The reducer will introduce another interface that could cause problems or creak.
Either way, seems a lot of trouble to go through just to use a quill stem.

but for uplifting bar height in an aesthetically pleasing way. among other fit considerations.

I'm using a reducer on this bike. Done centuries, rain rides, serious climbing and have never had an issue.

how are you. met you at the Starbucks in Pt. Richmond sometime back. That is a beauty of a bike. So does it have reducers in the headtube or is that the King Devolution. Oh, did I say nice bike?

I agree. Tons of spacers are unsightly and most of my steel bikes without a HT extension have a quill and my concours rides on a Ouzo Pro with a threadless cinelli grammo stem with just a single spacer below.
A little OT, these 1inch ahead stems (see below) look the business and a neat way to get the height without the slew of spacers and going quill.
So far, ive only found the Nitto which fashions one in a similar height, the rest I believe are bespoke?!
