Any learn me about the difference between the Open Corsa Evo CX vs the KS vs the KX? The tires are all about the same price on pbk.com.
I have been using Conti GP4000s for the last few years with great luck but bought some of the Neuvation wheels cheap and read that Contis are a b@tch to mount on the Neuvations.
thanks for any help

Put the Conti's in the dryer or warm sun and they will install okay. 4000S is about the best tire on the market. Stick with them if you like them.

OTOH a riding buddy that is a former racer and rides thousands of miles per year swears by them for overall comfort, mileage and durability, and speed. So you probably can't go wrong with either.

The CX has a file tread, the KS is smooth, otherwise they are the same (same casing etc) and both are great. The KX is more for wet conditions has a fine diamond center, similar to the CX and wider sipes on the side for water. I don't know much about it other than that.

I would either go with the CX or KS and if I were riding in wet conditions freqeuntly would get the Pave.

I've found the Pave a very good blend of supple, cornering well, and it seemed relatively tough, aka flat-resistant.

Also, if you don't like the green/black combo, a few sources have black/black. That's available at Excel Sports, memory says.

Dave, who found the Pave like all high-end Vittoria tires may not last as many miles as Conti tires but the Pave did feel nicer to ride with

CX for rain or mixed.

And there are 320 TPI versions for both now that basically reset the bar for Vittoria...

They're way nice. the ride's better than most tubulars (at same pressure).

What's the correct way to mount the Pave's, are they going forward or reverse in the picture?

I was not sure what he meant by this so I looked at my CG's. The label is only on one side of the tire so you don't have to look for directional arrows.

;) even if the lable were both sides, the tire treads are only facing one way in the photo ;)
