$340 for a pair of bib shorts. Hard to believe there is a recession going on...

In this case, CC's ad copy is good and informative: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/road-bikes/product-apparel/2009-assos-f.i.-13-s5-bib-shorts-4750.159.0.html

By the way, Lickbike.com (http://www.lickbike.com/) is having a sale on their 2007-2008 Assos inventory.

Assos are very expensive, no doubt. Silly expensive sometimes. But I have to say, the S5 Mille bib shorts are the best shorts I've ever had. I got them when eBay had a 10% off coupon and Live.com had the 30% cashback, so they only cost me $120 or so. I liked them so much, I got a second pair.

It seems as though they're trying to compete to see who is more ridiculous!!

although with the PI you get a set of bibs (PI always fits me best), MP3 player (should you really be listening to music while cars zoom by, ironically by drivers probably talking on the phone and tuning the radio......), and also $100 of that goes to Davis Phinney Foundation.......seems as though this item is more of a limited edition for fund raising purpose......

I bought a pair of Assos F.I Mille A 360 bib shorts last year from CC when they had a closeout sale. Paid $140 they were the cheapest I could find on the web.

They're very comfortable and well worth what I paid, just had to get use to the bib as I always rode with Tri shorts.
