Well I finally got the new stuff on my bars ..... (in a Honey Brown)
Hope to have a website up and running by the end of February. :p

But I've finally got a limited supply arriving.

Bars were artfully wrapped by Mr. Brian Smith !

I see that he uses the same wrapping direction as show in the Park pictures. :)

Louis .... Yup and the Logic is that in the drops, one tends to pull up,
creating a natural tendency to rotate the wrists inward toward the
frame. This inward rotation tightens the wrap if one wraps in the
Park direction.

Brian Smith explained all this too me. Don't think for a second that
I was smart enough to figure this out :crap:

If you have the tendency to rotate your wrists outward while in the
drops, wrap in the opposite direction from the Park Pictures.

I saw Ahneida's Legend wrapped with the honey brown and I was able to pick up the cobalt blue at the Cyclesport Open House today. I'll post some pictures when I get it on my Kirk. It is nice stuff and well worth the price.

You know, I have some wrap that looks Eggs-actly like that. ;)

I know, I know...I sound like a broken record. Best stuff on the market hands down!!!

Can't wait to get the Orange on the Zank. Then we'll see if I can break the old stuff stretch Armstrong style. :D

Where did you find the skinny white tape to dress up the black finishing tape?

HA !!!!!! :p

This is Brian Smith's creation. Brian wrapped my bars.
He used 3 tapes. First black, then white trimmed to 3/4 width or so.

The thin black strip in the middle is a very thin tape used by Serotta to
detail Serotta's, for example where paint ends and Ti begins.

So the white tape is split down the middle by thin black tape.

Brian did one heck of a job. I could never replay him ! ;)

He takes the same care building Serottas.

Nice, the color reminds me of a wrapper on a fine cigar.

You can find narrow electrical tape in blue, red green, white and yellow at Home Depot and I would imagine other places too.

That leather looks great. It seems to match the Brooks color as well. I got a great deal on a Swift. Looks like I need to order some tape....

HEY....

Who's been messing with MY Cobalt Blue wrap? ;) :D

I am holding off my mid-winter tune-ups (LBS' are slow now) waiting for delivery of some Cobalt BLue.

The black I have is really comfy and holding up well.

I have been riding my AR wrap and it is outstanding. The feel of it is great - a huge improvement over cork. It even keeps good traction when it gets wet with rain.

My biggest rave on it though is that it stays in place. I have problems with tape migrating under my hands. Not with this stuff. When wrapping, you can pull it really tight, which I think makes it stay in place on the bar. It still looks like it was just wrapped up. Even though the edges are chamfered, I am not getting any "roll-up" on the chamfered parts of the hide. This stuff lays nice and flat. Keep in mind that I am NOT a good bar tape wrapper. In the hands of a skilled person, you will get great results.

Follow Ray's instructions on the preparation. If you have questions, I'm sure Ray will steer you in the right direction.

Get your orders in - this stuff is nice!
