Is a chain hanger worth having on a ti frame?

Thanks.

Do you remove the rear wheel to transport the bike ?
If so, yes hangers are handy.

I have an Ebisu with a dynohub, so the rear wheel comes off a lot easier
than the front.

Thanks.IMO more so if the chainstay is painted.

They are nice to have if you remove your wheel often. There are devices that are sold to keep your chain, but the hanger is a nice feature. I had one on a CSI that I used quite a bit, since I transported it a lot.

Worth having? Yep…but not necessary, and nigh on impossible if the seat stays are carbon fiber (or at least I've not seen such a thing yet.)

Absolutely. Pump Peg too. Better to have 'em and not need 'em, than to need 'em and not have 'em. And most Ti builders don't charge any extra for them so, I mean......why not? Jeff N.

I ordered a custom ATB frame and asked for BOTH a pump peg and a Columbine Chainwatcher. Both items are even rarer on mountain bikes, but extremely useful.

I very rarely use my chain hanger or pump peg on my custom titanium, but ordered 'em both anyway. Better just to have those features "handy" if needed.

I just found out from Serotta that chain hangers are not available for ti stays. The welding might weaken the tube which sounds like good sense.

Thanks for the replies. Ciao.

I'm just CERTAIN the welding of a pump peg weakens the headtube as well...................NOT! Who fed you that? Jeff N.

The stays and headtube on my titanium bike are massive, so I'm not sweating it.
I have dual waterbottle bosses, too. Not about to sacrifice the ability to carry water.

The plastic one works really well and can go on any chain stay, just isn't as slick as the brazed on version...

I guess my Moots is going to crumble underneath me because I have a chain hanger on my SL.
