Searched and didn't find any discussion on this specific topic, though of course plenty about the NAHBS.

Trying to decide where to stay for the NAHBS (we're driving down from Chicago with a couple of small children). Seems that all the major chains have an outlet nearby. Looking for a mid-upscale experience (kind of like a Serotta, actually), that's kid friendly (ala Trail-a-bike). Any suggestions?

Thanks from the entire family.

Don's site (http://www.handmadebicycleshow.com/nahbs2009/index.htm) says:

HOST HOTEL: The Hyatt-Regency is a high rise hotel in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Looking out your room window you will see a beautiful skyline of downtown. Looking into the interior courtyard is also a breathtaking view. A rotating restaurant is also on the top floor of the hotel with a 360 degree bird’s eye view of downtown. One full rotation takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. The spacious hotel lobby and bars make excellent venues for planned meetings or impromptu gatherings that just grow and grow.

There is a Marriott downtown that is nice, as well as some pretty swanky stuff.

check into broadripple if you don't mind a few minutes drive. Great night life, just not right downtown. Cool vibe as well.
